| So I have never been rich in mercy for those who are injured and end up missing exercise etc. I know it is a weakness and short coming of mine. The past five weeks have been torture, I have a foot condition called: Plantar Fascitis. This is where the main tissue that spans from the heel to the toes becomes inflamed and starts to separate from the heel. Very painful and takes a LONG time to recover from. This is caused by overuse - which I have done by running so much since last June. So for the past five weeks I have not run at all. This is difficult on many fronts but one being my lack of mercy for others when they have been injured and now here I am. So for all those out there who have felt my subtle or not so subtle dissapointment about being hurt and not exercising, please forgive me. This does not open the door for silly exuses like a hang nail or a sore ear lobe -but my mercy quotient has gone up. If you were ever injured and missed exerice and need to explain yourself, please comment. Now on campus we have a new way for interns to grow as leaders. It is called the IET (Intesive Electvie Training). I love this program becuase it is fully optional and in fact if you are in the program and cannot keep up with the other requirements of the HA you have to step out until you can catch up. I like this because there have always been places I wanted to take interns that I cannot as it is just too demanding. The IET is broken into three six week phases. The first phases is led by Randy Olsson and involves a lot of reading, some interviewing etc. The second phase is led by Heath Stoner and involves creativity, starting a business, lots of reading etc. The third phase is led by myself. My phase includes a strict eating plan, lots of exercise, some reading and a few other things to mentally sharpen the participants. By the end of the year there will be less that 5% of the August class who have completed satisfactorally all three phases of the IET. Once though all three phases an individual is graduated from the IET and given the elite status of PUMA (Performing under much adversity). Tomorrow at chapel we will honor four of the first six individuals to achieve PUMA status. Don't panic those of you who are nervous about words like perform and status - it is a good group and they are not getting favored status They are incredible interns and will be world changing people! If you have ideas on anything you would have like to see us do for or with you while you were an intern to help you grow share them with me. This is a chance to share ideas that we should incorporate into the IET or maybe the internship - I look forward to hearing your comments. | | |

| Greetings all, here is the email that went out to HA alum, if you did not get it you can use this to get signed up for the phone call. Talk to you on Monday night Dear Honor Academy Family, It's time to give you an update on where we stand with the Save the BattleCry Campaign we shared with you a few weeks ago. As you know, we've set out as a body of staff, interns, GE leaders, Honor Academy alumni, and Battle Cry Coalition members to raise $4 million. Thanks to generosity from so many people across the ministry, we have already received $2.1 million. Praise the Lord! We would like to take time for another conference call to give you a more detailed update on what has happened and what exciting opportunities we have coming up both with this funding campaign and also the Honor Academy as a whole. Please join Heath Stoner and I for this very important conference call. Please click the above RSVP link and type "YES" in the subject line with your name in the body of the email to tell us you’ll be on the call. Then, on Monday, May 7th at 7:00pm (CST), please call 1-888-825-9506, and type in the pin 750897 after the prompt to be part of the conference call. I realize that not all of you will be able to be on this call, so we will plan to send another update next week via email with a synopsis of what we talked about. Again, this is JUST for HA Alumni to hear firsthand what God has been doing here since we last talked. I’m looking forward to connecting with each of you. Sincerely, David Hasz Director of the Honor Academy Teen Mania Ministries | | |
| Greetings all: So the fund raising at TM continues and so far many of your have contributed, thank you so much for your help in this time of need. We have a ways to go yet, but know that God is working. The interns are now in the middle of the UPG (unreached people group LTE) and so it is quiet on campus. I remember the first time we did this retreat and the police came to talk to an intern (Herbie) and when I took them in the back. We (the police and I) just missed the tribal dances at midnight. That would have been very hard to explain. Don't worry Herbie was not in trouble, just needed to call home. So I have a great deal of vision growing in my heart for this coming year in the HA - new ideas, growth on many things that have gone well this past year. Thank you to so many of you who have prayed year after year for the HA, who have personally encouraged me and my staff, and those who have given years of your life to see this program grow and prosper. God continues to use us to grow young leaders and it is because of so many of you that this is possible. So if I was going to try to think of the top ten heros or heroic events/hapenings form the past at TM what do you think the top one would be. Name a person and the action or event that made them a hero, or what ever. You cannot use a story about Ron Luce or myself either. I look forward to your answers and I may even use some for a new idea I have on campus. God bless all of you and continue to pray for the interns as summer approaches. In Him, David | | |
| Greetings all: This is an email that is getting sent to all alumni of the HA - if you are not an HA alumni but are very committed to the ministry of Teen Mania and want to be a part of this call, please RSVP and join us. I have never done anything like this on my xanga site before and hope I don't get into trouble with you or xanga. Hope to talk to you tomorrow David Dear HA and Alumni Family, I have urgent news that I need to share with you on two 30-minute conference calls we've set up for this Friday at 12 noon (CST) and Monday night at 6:00pm (CST). The reason we want you to be part of this call is because you are part of our Teen mania family. It is important for you to know what is happening here at Teen Mania with the BattleCry movement. It seems like this is a season of both incredible favor and challenge. I want to tell you about both since this is the most challenging situation we have faced in our 20-year history. Please join me, Stacy Long, and Heath Stoner for one of these very important conference calls. There are 2 options for you to join: This is JUST for alumni, alumni parents, and parents of current Honor Academy students to hear first hand the challenges the ministry is facing RIGHT NOW and how you can be a part of the solution. If you would like to join this call, reply to one of the email addresses above, depending on when you are able to join in on this call. Type "YES" in the subject, and your name in the body of the email. On the date and time specified above, please call 1-888-825-9506, and put in the pin 205033 to be part of the conference call. I realize that not all of you will be able be on this call, so notes will be available and will be sent via e-mail after the call on Monday. Looking forward to connecting with each of you.
